Early release video of the week! Check out Will Smith and inspiration... Hey Scientists! Science isn't all about science all the time... The heart behind all great work any scientist has ever done, is the heart of a person... Remember that as we move forward each and every day. Bring heart into science... Every day...
Scientists will... 1) Identify IV/DV, create a testable question and hypothesis from an experimental scenario.

Hey Scientists! After checking journals last night and noticing data tables and graphs from Ramp N' Roll, I'm compelled to hit the brakes on starting our energy unit and helping you all out... We need to work on data tables and graphs! These will be your resources to use throughout the year if you ever need reminding...
Scientists will... 1) Learn the guidelines on how to make a rock star graph. 2) Create data tables. 3) Use data to create data tables and graphs as a practice. Hey Scientists! We're already on week three! The year goes by as quickly as the last few weeks... If you haven't started diving into your best effort, remember, each moment you're setting the patterns for what your future will hold. Make sure it aligns with your highest dreams...
Today in science we'll be learning how to write rock star conclusions! (Sigh... I'll make it simple and easy to remember:-) Scientists will write scientific conclusions based on the data and graphs from last week's Ramp N' Roll. Hey Rock Stars! Today in science we'll be completing our Community Additions for Ramp N' Roll. We'll also self-assess with a checklist! Get ready for energizers in there as well! I'm very proud of the work you guys are doing and who we are as a community. Keep rockin' it!
Scientists will... 1) Make corrections to the original Ramp N' Roll through adding Community Additions. 2) Self-assess your practice of the scientific method using a check-list. Today in science we will complete Ramp N' Roll experimentation. Additionally, we will make "community additions" to improve the quality of our work and make corrections to our methodology and thinking. Finally, we will assess our work and corrections using a checklist.
Scientists will be able to... 1) Enact the scientific method in the experiment Ramp N' Roll. 2) Make corrections to thinking and methodology 3) Self-assess work using a checklist Early release video for the week! Who's billy goat is this?!? I just don't know... Today in science we will try to find out "who's billy goat is this", score Rock Star on our science safety test, and explore the scientific method.
Scientists will... 1) Turn in safety contracts (signed). 2) Apply knowledge of safety in the science room on a safety test. 3) Review parts of the scientific method. Today in science we will watch a short video on school procedures. Next, we will do an activity that explores causes/effects in order to define science as a class.
Scientists will match causes and effects in order to create a definition of science. REMINDERS 1) P.3 NEEDS TO SIGN PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK BY WED. 2) SAFETY CONTRACTS ARE DUE TOMORROW! (SIGNED BY YOU AND PARENT) 3) SAFETY TEST TOMORROW! Today we will go over lab safety for this room, Schoology, become acquainted with the room, as well as get a seating chart for our beginning of College in the Class 16-17!
Scientists will… 1) Go over lab safety 2) Sign-up for Schoology 3) Become acquainted with the room 4) Start College in the Class The goal for today is that you complete building a Rock Star Science Journal. After taping your journal (which I will show you), be sure to tape your dream card on the front and include a name tag (which I will provide). Then you're done!
Scientists will... 1) Complete building their science journals! And help each other in the process. Click HERE to access the form for you to vote which values you'd like to have for College in the Class. I'm excited to see what you come up with as a community!
Scientists will... 1) Decide an agreed upon set of values to live by as a community. 2) Create "Rock Star" science journals to use for the year. |
