Hey Guys!
Congrats! You made it through another week of middle school and are one step closer to 9th grade... Step by step they say... Anyways, today you'll apply knowledge of the order of the planets, moon phases and tides by taking a quiz (Schoology). We'll also have a few experiences on the topic of eclipses. Crush it today and have fun! At the end, make sure you're proud of your effort, and know that in the end, the results take care of themselves. Do it! V

Hey Guys...
After grading your writing from last week, it looks like we have quite a lot to work on. Lets review this first and then it's on to eclipses... To get rockin' on eclipses, we'll be working in science journals. Get ready to create a new entry and title it: Eclipses: Into the Shadows. Scientists will create diagrams of lunar and solar eclipses as well as define them. Hey Rock Stars! Happy early release day! Today, we'll reinforce learning on moon phases and tides in preparation for our quiz this Friday. Make sure you're studying your science journal each night and going through the simulators as well. Be ready! Finally, I give you the early release video of the week. Greetings Rock Stars!
Today we need to reinforce our lab from yesterday by creating another visual of Moon phases. We'll also discuss/record a few vocabulary terms and finalize our community additions from yesterday. Finally, I'm formally announcing a quiz that covers order of the planets, Moon phases and tides this coming Friday. Scientists will create a visual of Moon phases in their science journals. Hey Scientists!
Today we're going to be doing a lab/activity that is always a student favorite. We'll darken the room, turn on the Sun and observe the Moon from different vantage points (viewing points) in it's orbit around Earth. Scientists will be able to draw and identify Moon phases and associated tides with that phase. Hey Guys!
Happy Friday! You're now one week closer to high school. . . Yikes. Today you'll receive your first "College Lecture" and the topic will be all about the Moon. Our topics will be features, phases, tides, and eclipses. Next week, we'll dive more deeply into each topic. Also, to help you out on this first lecture I have a note catcher for you which we'll place in our science journals. Let's crush it. Hey Guys!
Today could be intense and will require some hard work. Even if you don't enjoy writing, make yourself proud by your efforts. Take a step forward in reaching your dream today by practicing hard work and pushing through the "uncomfortability." Hey All! Happy early release day! Our next scientist is Galileo. He was crucial to advancing thought in astronomy and other fields. His ideas were also very controversial. Today, you'll take two-column notes and conduct a paired reading. At the end of class, we'll review our ideas and get ready to write tomorrow! And finally... I give you the early release video of the week. Hey Guys!
We have two more pieces to put into place before we tackle our first writing prompt. We need to update our glossaries and also get some information on Galileo. The work you do in your science journals is your primary tool and a major reference to sharing your knowledge. This is the same for any scientist. Work hard today. Crush it! Scientists will describe terms in astronomy and record in their science journals and identify the major contributions of Galileo. Hey Guys!
We have a VERY packed day in science today! We need to:
