Hey All! I hope you're prepared for the vocabulary quiz. . . It'll be challenging. After you've completed the quiz, you'll go to the Forces in Space folder and click the button "All About Gravity." Here, there are a series of readings, videos and questions to answer. It gives you an overview of how our understanding of gravity has changed since Galileo's drop experiments. Have fun and good luck!
Oh, and to do the work today, please start a new lab entry and call it "All About Gravity". Come back and look under the document camera to check how to set-up your science journal for this entry.

Happy Friday Rock Stars!
I completely forgot that we're on an assembly schedule today, and therefore, have decided to push back the quiz to Monday. (Celebrate that :-) Today, we'll be completing the drop lab. This includes data collection, analysis questions and community additions. Crush it today! Scientists will collect and analyze data to explain why some falling objects hit the ground at different times. Hey All!
You guys are CRUSHING LABS! And today we'll start another. I give you the Drop Lab where Galileo challenged Aristotle's reasoning of gravity and how objects fall. Scientists will drop objects and analyze why certain objects fall more quickly than others. Hey Guys! Happy early release day! Today in science, we'll be doing community additions for our jump lab and then beginning an experiment with Galileo. Scientists will make corrections to "jump lab" analysis questions to refine/correct thinking and begin an exploration on the "drop lab". Finally, I give you the early release video of the week (Thanks Avin!). Hey All!
Hope you're all energized from all the Halloween candy you ate for breakfast because today we're going to "jump" into the physics part of astronomy and do a "jump lab". Our research question we'll be investigating is: How does my weight on other planets affect my ability to jump? Oh, and I also want to remind you that we have a glossary quiz this week. You can use your glossary if it's filled out all the way. All words from astronomy are fair game! Good luck today and have fun! |
